I knew that she wrote "Walk Away" for Kelly Clarkson, "No Boundaries" for Kris Allen and Adam Lambert but I never knew her portfolio actually included songs like "Taking Chances" by Celine Dion (you know, that Glee song), "Love Story" by Katharine McPhee and "Pieces of Me" by Ashlee Simpson.
Oh wait, wikipedia shoves it in my face..

She actually SINGS pretty well. Though I don't think her voice could hit the highest high notes, her gruff and deep lends that certain...raw appeal to songs she wrote. Though sometimes she gets too excited and makes it sound corny and forced.
On youtube ...she may get a little carried away at parts, looking more like a cougar next to Jason Reeves. :)
And who could forget Bikini girl?
I wonder how the singer-songwriter thing plays out...Like who claims personal ownership of songs? Is it the singer who propels a hit song to the top of the charts or the songwriter who created the song in the first place? hmmm...

according to Francis Magalona when he spoke in an office event, the songwriter gets paid royalties for each time the song gets used.. like revived by other artists or changed to become politicians' jingles. so money-wise, i think the composer gets more.
